Effective Time Management

Effective Time Management

The one thing we all have in common is time. Young, old, rich or poor, everyone has 24 hours a day and seven days a week. What you do with your time determines how quickly, if ever, you reach financial independence.

It’s critical for four important reasons:

  1. Time management enables you to get more done in less time. Doing so allow you to free up those four hours a week you need to devote to doing other important things that can impact your life, like wealth building. People who don’t understand time management will approach their week with dread. They’ll spend the entire week scurrying around doing busy work and complaining about how they don’t have the time for anything else. A good time manager can get more done in an hour than many people can all day.

Your willingness to work long hours may be noble, but we don’t want you to spend all of your time working. If you‘re like most people, after eight hours on your job, you’re tired and just want to get home and rest. That’s fine but with good time management, you can schedule a time to rest plus all those little things around the house that need to be done and still set aside a few hours on the weekend to devote to wealth building or starting a side hustle.

2. Time management takes the pressure and stress out of working, thereby making it more fun. When you plan ahead to spend four hours a week on wealth building, you’ll not only look forward to accomplishing your other objectives for the week but will feel even better knowing that part of what you’re doing is contributing to your goal of financial independence.

3. Time management enables you to plan time for recreation and family life, to enrich your experience of life. You may think that a good manager of time is someone who is capable of taking on monumental amounts of work but still gets everything done. The perspective of someone who manages time well appears like a vision of a parent fishing with their children on a Saturday afternoon because he or she finished all their work and wealth-building tasks on Saturday morning.

4. Good time management gives you an incredible reputation for reliability. If you say you’ll call your financial adviser for an update at 9.45 am Saturday, he or she can count on it. They’ll be sitting by the phone with the information you need. if you say you’ll mail someone some information, then the person can expect it. If you tell someone you’ll take care of it, then the person doesn’t have to waste time following up on you to see if you remembered to do it. People with whom you do business will admire you so much for this that they will be drawn to you. The people you hire to do work for you will soon learn that if they commit to completing a project for you, they should do it on time or you’ll be right behind them. following up.

Remember that time is the one thing we all have in common. We cannot make time, save time or buy time. Good time management frees up your time for important things like creative thinking and strategic planning.
